Youth Music Illinois continues to thrive because of your support!
Research continues to show that studying music, for even one year, provides numerous benefits throughout life including higher test scores and increased listening skills as an adult. Our students not only strengthen their musical skills as members of the Youth Music Illinois, they also develop valuable leadership and communication skills, problem-solving techniques, a commitment to teamwork, determination, and higher self-confidence.
With these new attributes, our students then return to their school music program and become better leaders among their peers, thereby supporting school music programs that already face serious obstacles due to budget cuts. While Youth Music Illinois does charge tuition, those fees only cover approximately 40% of the total cost per student each season. Furthermore, we strive to make our program accessible to any hard-working young musician through need-based tuition scholarships.
